CBT and Counselling Maidstone

Hello, I’m Mark, a fully qualified and highly experienced Psychotherapeutic Therapist based at CBT and Counselling Maidstone. With a passion for helping individuals navigate life’s challenges, I bring many years of experience to my counselling practice.

After completing three years of rigorous training, I achieved an Advanced Diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counselling, which includes specialised training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). I am fully insured and hold accredited membership with the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society (NCPS), ensuring the highest standards of ethical and professional practice.

We all face unique challenges, uncertainties, and concerns at some point in our lives. However, through professional therapy, we can begin to understand the reasons behind these feelings and find ways to overcome the obstacles we encounter.

I am committed to providing a safe, welcoming, and confidential space where you will feel at ease comfortable enough to open up. My approach is both supportive and non-judgemental, tailored to help you gain insight and work through your unique challenges. Whether you’re dealing with personal issues or difficult life transitions, I am here to support you in making positive, lasting changes.

In my practice, I welcome adults of all ages, backgrounds, ethnicities, and sexual orientations. My goal is to help each client make sense of their life and empower them with tools to build a positive future. We’ll work together to explore new perspectives and behaviours that encourage personal growth and resilience.

I also provide guidance on navigating the behaviours of others who have influence on your life, equipping you with practical strategies to handle challenging people and situations confidently.

Background/Experience

My interest in psychology began in my teenage years and has grown into a fulfilling career helping others live their best life.

I’m a father of two adult sons and have been married for 35 years. My career has been diverse, such as catering, motoring and commercial interiors, as a Training Manager.

Repeated psychometric testing has always scored me highly in Empathy, Analytical mind, Relationship builder, Responsibility and Individualisation.

The greatest reward in my work is seeing clients make meaningful progress, with many expressing, “I wish I had done this sooner.”

The challenges I’ve faced in both my personal and professional life have always helped with my knowledge of how our minds work. This minimises conflict and stress enabling individuals to have a happy, content life, with both confidence and optimism.

My job satisfaction comes from seeing people make significant progress within their lives. Often, they say things, such as; “This is amazing, I wish I had done this sooner.”
