About Maria
Hello, my name is Maria and I am a fully qualified therapist working with adults and children. I understand that reaching out for help can feel like a big step, but I am here to support you every step of the way. My aim is always to help you feel heard, valued, and comfortable, creating a safe space where you can explore change and move towards a more positive way of being.
My core approach is Person-Centred, which means I believe everyone has the capacity to fulfil their potential. However, I work integratively, drawing on structured methods such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) to help clients who may feel stuck. This ensures our sessions are tailored to your unique needs, offering the best chance for lasting change and helping you gain deeper insight into your patterns and behaviours.
At the start of our first session, I will gently explore what you hope to achieve from therapy, although it’s completely okay if you don’t yet know. Together, we will work collaboratively to find clarity and help you move forward. Whether you are dealing with anxiety, depression, or panic attacks, I provide a confidential and non-judgemental environment where you can explore your feelings at a pace that feels right for you.
For younger clients, I adapt my approach to be child-friendly and nurturing. I use creative methods such as play therapy, art, and storytelling to help children and young people process difficult feelings and build resilience. I believe that therapy can be life-changing and empowering, and I am dedicated to helping both adults and children feel equipped to face life's challenges.
