Yes, you're welcome to cancel or reschedule your session, as long as you give more than 24 hours' notice. Sessions cancelled or changed with less than 24 hours' notice are fully chargeable.

    Sessions & Scheduling

No, you're not tied to the same day and time unless you'd like to be. Sessions can be arranged flexibly, and your therapist will work with you to find times that suit you going forward.

There is no fixed number of sessions. The length of therapy depends on what you would like support with and the goals you want to work towards. Some people attend for a short period to address a specific issue, while others choose longer-term support. Sessions are booked one at a time, so there is no obligation to commit to more than you feel comfortable with. The aim is to help you get to where you want to be as efficiently as possible at a pace that feels right for you.

Your first session is an opportunity to meet your therapist and talk through what has brought you to therapy. You can share your concerns, discuss what you would like to work on, and begin identifying any goals. Your therapist will listen without judgement and help you explore your thoughts and feelings in a structured and supportive way. They will also explain how therapy works and answer any questions so you feel clear and comfortable about the process.

CBT focuses on understanding how your thoughts, emotions and behaviours affect one another. It can help you recognise unhelpful patterns and develop practical ways to respond differently. Counselling gives you space to explore your feelings, experiences and difficulties in greater depth. Many of our therapists integrate different approaches and will tailor the sessions to your individual needs.

No. You do not need a GP referral or a formal diagnosis to book a session. You can choose a therapist and book directly through our website. Your therapist will use the first session to understand what you are experiencing and what you would like help with.

You do not need to decide which type of therapy you need before booking. You can read about each therapist’s experience and approach on their profile. During your first session, your therapist will discuss what you are experiencing and how they may be able to help. Therapy can then be tailored to your needs and what you would like to achieve.

    Therapists

All of our therapists are fully qualified and experienced in supporting individuals with a wide range of concerns, including anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, work-related stress and relationship difficulties. You do not need to find someone who specialises in your exact issue. Our therapists regularly work with many overlapping challenges and will tailor sessions to your needs. If you are looking for face-to-face sessions, most people choose a therapist based on location. If you would like a wider choice of therapists and greater flexibility, online sessions can be a good option. If you are unsure, we are happy to help guide you.

All of our therapists are fully qualified, experienced professionals. They are trained to support individuals with a wide range of emotional and psychological difficulties, including anxiety, depression, low self-esteem and work-related stress. Many of our therapists also have additional training in relationship and couples work, allowing them to support clients both individually and as couples where appropriate.

Yes. Not every therapist will be the right fit for everyone, and that is completely okay. You are not tied to one therapist. If something does not feel quite right, simply get in touch and we will help you explore other options. If you are attending face-to-face sessions, changing therapist may mean choosing a different location. We will support you in finding an option that works for you.

    Online Counselling

Many people find online counselling works well for them. Research suggests that therapist-delivered online therapy can be effective for many common mental health difficulties, though suitability and outcomes depend on the person, condition, therapeutic approach and circumstances. Our therapists are experienced in working online and focus on creating a supportive, structured and confidential space, whether you are attending from home or elsewhere. Online sessions also offer greater flexibility and a wider choice of therapists. If you prefer in-person support, that option is equally available.

You'll need a stable internet connection, a device with a camera and microphone (laptop, tablet, or phone), and a quiet, private space where you won't be disturbed. We'll send you a secure video link before your session.

Yes. You can choose between online and face-to-face appointments when booking, subject to your therapist’s availability. You do not have to commit to one format for all your sessions.

Yes. Our online counselling is available to clients throughout the UK. You can view therapists who offer online sessions, read about their experience and approach, and book directly through the website.

    Confidentiality & Data

Yes. Sessions are confidential, and each therapist works to the ethical framework of their own professional body (such as BACP, UKCP, BABCP or NCPS). There are a small number of situations where confidentiality may need to be broken. This would only happen if your therapist believes there is a serious risk of harm to you or someone else, or if there is a legal obligation to disclose information, such as a court order or safeguarding requirement. Wherever possible, your therapist would discuss this with you first. However, if immediate action is needed to ensure safety, your therapist may need to contact your GP or emergency services.

Your details are used to communicate with you about your therapy and bookings — appointment confirmations, reminders and post-session review requests. We only send marketing emails if you have opted in, and you can unsubscribe at any time. Everything is handled in line with our confidentiality and data protection responsibilities.

    Support

If you have a concern about bookings, payments or our service, please contact us directly by email and we will respond promptly. If your concern relates to your therapy, we encourage you to speak with your therapist in the first instance. Many issues can be resolved quickly through open and honest conversation. If you feel unable to raise it with your therapist, or the matter remains unresolved, you are welcome to contact us and we will take your concerns seriously. All of our therapists are self-employed and work in line with the ethical framework of their professional body. If necessary, you also have the option of contacting their professional organisation directly.
