About Lynn
My name is Lynn and I'm a qualified and experienced therapist providing a warm, confidential, and supportive environment at my practice. I specialise in Rational Emotive Behavioural Therapy (REBT), a powerful branch of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). My aim is to help you explore your concerns and identify exactly what might be stopping you from moving forward in your life.
I consider myself to be a sincere, practical, and encouraging therapist. I work to help you understand the intricate relationship between your beliefs, feelings, and thoughts, as these directly impact your emotional well-being. By taking an active role in our sessions, I offer an approach rooted in empathy and the firm belief that you are the expert on your own experiences.
Together, we will look at you as a whole person to ensure a deep understanding of your challenges. I will help you make sense of overwhelming problems by breaking them down into smaller, manageable parts. This structured approach allows us to work collaboratively toward bringing about tangible, positive change.

Background & Experience
My professional journey began in Adult Education and the prison service, where I worked as a tutor teaching literacy and numeracy. During this time, I worked with both young adults and mature students, quickly realising that emotional barriers such as anger, low self-esteem, stress, and lack of confidence often prevented effective learning. This sparked my interest in how Cognitive Behavioural Therapy could be used as a tool to overcome these barriers.
In addition to my clinical work, I have extensive experience in the voluntary sector with 'The Silver Line' charity, a befriending service dedicated to combating loneliness. Supporting people from all walks of life through significant life changes and isolation has deepened my understanding of the human experience. I also serve as a trainer, helping new volunteers develop the skills needed to provide meaningful emotional support.
