More from Emma
Hello, I’m Emma. I offer integrative counselling with psychodynamic roots, blending different therapeutic approaches so our work can be shaped around what you need. My aim is to provide a gentle, non-judgemental space where you can explore your thoughts and feelings openly, whether you come alone or as a couple.
I have over eighteen years’ experience working across mental health and social care. Before qualifying as a therapist, I supported people in secondary mental health services, forensic settings, and during Mental Health Act assessments. These roles gave me a deep understanding of trauma, vulnerability, and the importance of compassionate, person-centred support.
Alongside this, I have volunteered for charities supporting people with addictions, emotional difficulties, and complex life experiences. In my most recent role, I worked closely with refugees and received extensive training in trauma-informed practice. These experiences continue to guide my work today, helping me offer a safe, grounded, and thoughtful space for reflection, healing, and growth.
I work with individuals and couples facing a wide range of issues, including anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship challenges, addictions, personality-related difficulties, and eating disorders. I welcome and value diversity, and I am committed to creating a space where every person feels respected and understood.
How I Can Help You
I offer a warm, calm, and collaborative space where you can explore what is happening in your life with honesty and support.
Together, we can:
- Understand what feels overwhelming so you feel more grounded
- Explore patterns or behaviours that may be keeping you stuck
- Develop steadier ways of coping with stress, anxiety, or low mood
- Work gently through anxiety, loss, trauma, or emotional exhaustion
- Strengthen communication and connection within your relationships
- Gain clarity about what you want to change and how to move forward
Our sessions will be a safe and respectful space where you can think, reflect, and grow at a pace that feels comfortable.
