More from Tracey

Hello, I’m Tracey Neale, a fully qualified online EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing) practitioner. I am also trained in Integrative Counselling and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and I work with both individuals and couples.

As an integrative counsellor, I draw on a variety of therapeutic approaches depending on what feels right for you. Whether we are working together using EMDR, CBT, or counselling, I will always adapt the sessions to meet your individual needs.

About EMDR Therapy

The mind has a natural ability to heal itself, much like the body does — and much of this happens during REM (Rapid Eye Movement) sleep. However, when we experience trauma — whether from childhood, a recent event, or an ongoing situation — this natural healing process can become overwhelmed. This can leave us with unresolved distress, often felt as anxiety, intrusive thoughts, or emotional overwhelm.

EMDR helps process these “frozen” memories safely. Using techniques such as eye movements or bilateral tapping, EMDR enables the brain to continue its natural healing process. It is highly effective in treating trauma, anxiety, and other emotional difficulties. You can find out more via the EMDR Association UK.

Is EMDR Effective Online?

A question I’m often asked is: Does EMDR really work online? The answer is yes — absolutely. Therapists have been successfully using EMDR online for many years. Since the pandemic, new platforms such as Bilateral Base have been developed specifically to support safe and effective online EMDR sessions.

Counselling and CBT

Counselling provides a safe, confidential space where you can explore your thoughts, feelings, and behaviours. Together, we will look at how past experiences may be affecting your life today.

CBT, which is often helpful alongside counselling, focuses on how your thoughts, feelings, behaviours, and physical sensations are linked. By breaking unhelpful cycles, CBT can help you manage anxiety, depression, and other emotional difficulties more effectively.

How My Therapy Can Help You

I firmly believe that my own personal experiences have helped shape me into a warm, empathetic, and understanding counsellor. This means I can offer you a confidential, non-judgemental space to explore your difficulties and gain insight into where they may have originated. Together, we will also look at how you view yourself, others, and the world around you.

Through the counselling relationship, we will work together to create positive change, at a pace that feels right for you.
