CBT Therapy Maidstone
Hello my name is Chantelle and I am a fully qualified and experienced ‘Cognitive Behavioural Therapist (CBT)’ providing CBT therapy at CBT and Counselling Kent. I hold an ‘Advanced Integrative Diploma in CBT/REBT’ achieved through the ‘College of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, London’
I specialise in ‘Rational Emotive Behavioural Therapy’ (REBT) which is a type of of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. REBT is an action-oriented approach which will help you deal with any irrational beliefs you may hold, so you are able to manage any emotions and behaviours associated in a more calm and rational way.
Alongside my own private practice, I also have experience working with ‘Mid-Kent Mind’ and ‘Anxiety UK’
How I can help you
Perhaps you are feeling stuck and finding it difficult to move on with your life. Or maybe you are struggling to manage your emotions or feel overwhelmed with something that is impacting you negatively. You don’t have to stay this way. It is possible to make the relevant changes by taking a different perspective and learning new skills that will have a positive impact on your life.
I understand that reaching out for help can feel a little daunting. However, no matter what you are dealing with, I will meet you where you are right now and I will ensure you feel safe and properly heard. Through gentle encouragement I will help you to talk openly and freely about what is troubling you.
With my warm, down-to-earth and compassionate approach I will help you achieve a better understanding of what you are struggling with and why. I will then support you to explore what might be keeping you stuck and preventing you from moving forward in your life. Together, we will focus on helping you achieve the goal you have set for yourself.
Although my approach is strongly influenced by Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), I understand that therapy is not a ‘one size fits all’. Therefore, I may also use other therapeutic approaches. Such as use of affirmations, imagery, mindfulness, compassion, or solution focused techniques, to name but a few. This will create an individual approach uniquely tailored for you – It’s your therapy!
How CBT Therapy works
CBT/REBT is largely influenced by how our thoughts affect our feelings, and subsequently our behaviours.
Collaboratively, we will work on identifying and challenging how any irrational thoughts, beliefs and behaviours that might be negatively impacting you. We will then work towards changing them into more helpful, rational ways of thinking as a means of finding a new perspective on life. These helpful changes occur by understanding the process, learning the techniques of CBT/REBT and putting them into practice during a session and outside of the session.
All sessions are collaborative and I will play an active role with the aim of empowering you to gain control. Alongside encouraging you to make positive changes in your thinking and behaviours. This will develop a lasting tool kit which will bring balance and happiness and a more fulfilling life.
